My friend Alex Osterwalder often says that, in any project, you need to confront the market as early as possible. Not to seek comfortable validation. But to understand how an idea is truly perceived.
After two years of work, it was time to leave the laboratory and listen to reality. That is what we have done over the past three months with chapter beyond.
After more than 150 individual conversations, here is what we have learned.
The concept resonates strongly. But some key points needed to be explained more clearly.
chapter beyond is NOT:
▸ an investment club;
▸ yet another social network;
▸ a place to seek commercial opportunities.
chapter beyond is a private community. A sanctuary for accomplished individuals entering a new chapter of life — who now want to live, create, transmit and share what truly matters, in a protected, confidential environment free from commercial solicitation.
No artificial content. No culture of appearances. No staging. Just real people, real conversations, shared passions and projects that are lived.
This new chapter is one where personal questions become central. The relationship with time changes. The need for depth grows. The desire to transmit, to create and to realize what has been postponed for too long becomes stronger.
We no longer define ourselves only by what we have done. But by what we still want to live, share and accomplish.
Passions remain important: cars, watches, wine, travel, art, music, nature, sport… But they are not the final subject. They are the entry point. They open the conversation and allow the relationship to begin.
Then the real topics appear: personal transitions, the relationship with time, long-postponed projects, the loneliness sometimes felt after success, family, transmission, legacy.
The future Swiss philanthropic chapter beyond Foundation, intended to hold the majority of chapter beyond SA, is a key element of our architecture. It will have three essential roles: ensuring the long-term continuity of the project, protecting its independence, and reinforcing our commitment to confidentiality.
But above all, it will give chapter beyond a deeper dimension: supporting, over the long term, initiatives dedicated to the development of younger generations.
▸ Members give life to the community.
▸ The Foundation will ensure its purpose and continuity.
▸ Younger generations will be its philanthropic destination.
The circle is complete: as members bring greater meaning to their own third chapter of life, they also help create more opportunities for those just beginning their first.
